Hey guys! OMG you have no idea how therapeutic it was typing that greeting! Lol I have missed you guys and this blog more than you know. I’m sure most of you know that I got married, moved to a new city, and got a full time job! That’s right no more freelance days for me. The thing is I actually love having a job that I go to everyday and I love the people–it’s just hard for me to find the perfect balance for the blog….but don’t fret because here’s me figuring it out. One word and recipe at a time.
If you’ve been poking around on the blog lately then you’ve probably noticed I’ve been changing some of the categories around. As you know I love margaritas and there’s only one thing I love just as much as a margarita and thats happy hour! If you have to ask why you need to visit your closest happy hour stat! Tasty drinks and delicious appetizers often times for a super affordable price. I also notice that when brainstorming for new recipes I am typically drawn to appetizer and small plate recipes. So I decided to revamp my blog and place the focus on cocktails and appetizer/small plate recipes. I’m super excited about this and I couldn’t be happier. My blog will be the new GO TO place for cocktails and appetizers that will help you host the most amazing parties and small gatherings.
I love having friends over and handing them a drink along with a delicious mini-something they can take a bite of; and trust me they love it too! Stayed tuned for some super exciting recipes coming soon. Oh and for those who love my larger portion recipes don’t worry I will post those every once and a while because a girls still gotta feed her family 🙂
NOW on to the reason we are here today! I’m super excited to talk about my new recipe which you are absolutely going to love! My Spicy Teriyaki Sliders w/ Sweet Asian Broccoli Slaw! Yes that’s a mouthful–first person to say that three times in a row wins a drink on me lol.
The slaw is definitely Asian inspired and trust me it’s good! When I came up with this recipe I loved the idea of the spicy teriyaki burger but I wanted to cool it down with something sweet and crunchy like a slaw. Pairing these two together was the best decision ever! Did I also mention that these babies are grilled?! Yes! That’s right take advantage of this seasons weather for as long as you can! Fall is definitely coming BUT for now I’m soaking up any sun and summer like activities I can get my hands on.
Did you notice that I’m staying in theme with the sliders! We are talking appetizer inspired recipes from now on remember 😉 a slider is the perfect dish to serve for game day, girls night in, or movie night!
Check out the recipe below and give it a try! The best part is that if you prefer a full burger just make regular sized patties instead of sliders. A few things to note: you can add pickles, tomato’s, onions, and lettuce to your burger. The additional toppings are totally up to you.

- 1 tbsp Season Salt
- 1 tsp Rice Vinegar
- 1/4 tsp Sesame Oil

Instructions
- Grab your bell peppers and onion and begin dicing until you have a 1/4 cup for each veggie.
- In a large bowl add your choice of protein, diced veggies, marinade, and seasonings and combine them together until fully combined.
- Create your slider patties by first forming a ball and then pressing them out into thick flat discs.
- Place your patties in the fridge while you make your slaw.
- In a separate bowl add your slaw mix, bean sprouts, diced pineapple, and chopped cilantro and mix well.
- In a smaller bowl whisk mayo, pineapple juice, rice vinegar, sesame oil, season salt, and sweetener of choice.
- Combine the slaw dressing and the slaw mix together until well combined; place in the fridge until you are ready to eat.
- Next grill your burgers until they reach your preferred temperature (I like mines medium) add your cheese of choice and close the lid to allow cheese to melt.
- Once the burgers are done remove them from the grill and add them to your bun along with a slice of tomato and the slaw.
