In case you didn’t know I’ve been working with an AMAZING tequila company out in Arizona called 3 Amigos. They are family owned and operated which I think is really nice. The quality of their tequila is top notch. They have a few great ones for you to choose from Blanco which is made from 100% ripe blue agave from the Highlands of Jalisco, Reposado which rests for 11 months in White American Charred Oak, Anejo is aged for 2 years in White American Charred Oak, Organic which is one of the world’s first tequilas to achieve this distinction, Extra Anejo aged for 8 years in White American Charred Oak, and last but not least Ramonas Reserve made with their 2 year anejo, agave nectar and spices. If you want to learn more about this company please feel free to visit their website! You can also find their tequila at your local Total Wine & More store.
Now lets get to this recipe! First you want to chop or slice 1 apple. We are going to use the apples in our simple syrup. Add your apples to a sauce pan with equal parts water and sugar.
Once the sugar has completely dissolved add the entire mixture to a blender and blend until fine. You have the option to strain your simple syrup but I chose to keep the texture in mine.
Next we need to rim the glass with the perfect ingredient……red hard candy…in this case I chose cherry lollipops and smashed them until they were smaller pieces.
Once the candy is smashed rim your glass with agave or corn syrup and press the rim of the glass into the smashed candy. Next add your ice to a shaker along with your 3 Amigos Tequila, orange liqueur, lime, and simple syrup. You could probably also get away with apple juice or apple sauce if you are seeking texture in you drink.
And voila! There you have it…the perfect drink to kill your Monday blues or just because you deserve it 🙂
