Southern Red Velvet Brownies w/ Cream Cheese Frosting

I started using Rodelle’s Vanilla Extract after stumbling upon it in the grocery store one day…..I’m always looking for new products to try so I decided to give it a whirl and I must say I fell in love instantly! I’ve never looked back. Rodelle’s Vanilla Extract is absolutely amazing and takes my baked goods to an entirely different level.

Southern Red Velvet Brownies w/ Cream Cheese Frosting

My favorite product to use when baking would have to be the Rodelle Vanilla Paste….it is super concentrated and full of tiny vanilla beans. I was so excited when I first got it that I actually tasted a little on my finger 🙂 I’m dying to make some no churn vanilla ice cream with the Rodelle Vanilla Beans….stay tuned that recipe is coming soon!

Rodelle has a ton of different products good for baking and cooking! I received an amazing package from Rodelle in the mail and will be sharing my goodies with you guys tomorrow on my instagram and snapchat. Make sure to check it out.

Southern Red Velvet Brownies w/ Cream Cheese Frosting

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! I love baking sweets for people….. especially my hun bun. This year I have a few recipes in the works but I wanted to create something super delicious for todays special announcement. I come from a southern family and growing up I had my fair share of Red Velvet cake but never a Red Velvet Brownie with the same taste….The red velvet brownies that I’ve come across are normally on the chocolate side which don’t get me wrong is still great but I really wanted the old fashion taste I’ve come to know and love in a brownie form… I kid you not guys it took me 5 times but I got it! I tested this recipe over and over until it was perfect and I can’t wait for you guys to try it. It’s is everything you love about the traditional southern red velvet cake and more. I even added a cream cheese frosting with chopped pecans….you can’t get more southern than that lol.

It’s super easy to make and will be gone within hours lol….trust me! I’m actually going to be making some more really soon for my family and boyfriend. It’s highly addictive so beware of that first bite. Now for this recipe I ended up using three Rodelle products (Vanilla Paste, Vanilla Extract, and the Baking Cocoa) and guess what you’re in luck because I am giving away these products for Valentine’s Day to one lucky winner! The giveaway starts today and ends on February 14, 2017. So make sure to get your entries in if you want to try these amazing products (products shown below).

Southern Red Velvet Brownies w/ Cream Cheese Frosting

Now lets get started on the recipe! Like I said its super easy and takes very little time to make. First lets start by melting the white chocolate, butter, and vegetable oil in a microwave. Make sure to stir the melted mixture until fully combined.

Next lets cream our sugar and butter mixture; then add your egg and buttermilk. Make sure to cream this until fully combined. Add your Rodelle Vanilla Paste and distilled vinegar and mix well.

Now we need to prepare our dry ingredients. In a separate bowl combine flour, Rodelle Baking Cocoa, salt, and baking powder until well combined. Next add the flour mixture a little at a time until fully combined. Add red food coloring until desired color is met (I used the whole bottle lol). Add brownie batter to a greased baking pan. ****In the pictures and video I used a pyrex glass baking dish; I HIGHLY recommend you used a metal pan for this recipe. The pyrex dish calls for longer cooking times; also through testing I found the dish caused uneven baking for the brownies***** Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes.

Now onto the cream cheese frosting! In a separate bowl add room temperature cream cheese, confectioners sugar, Rodelle Vanilla Extract, and buttermilk. Mix until smooth.

Remove brownies from the oven and allow to cool before adding your frosting. Top with chopped pecans and enjoy!

Like I said easy right?! Please don’t get intimidated by this recipe its really delicious and everyone will love it. Plus it’s red and perfect for Valentine’s Day. Now…. onto this giveaway that I know you guys are dying to hear more about! I think the easiest thing for me to do is use rafflecopter so click the link to enter! a Rafflecopter giveaway

My Favorite V-Day dessert is cherry cheesecake. At one time I made them so much I couldn’t see straight. My family always expected it and my friends begged for them. If there was something going on at work, they made a request too. I had to back off because the joy and fun was gone. I still love it. Now I may make one for me and my sweetie to enjoy. He never had one. So maybe we can make our own V-Day tradition.

Yes! Sorry about that! It should be a 1/4 cup of melted butter and a 1/4 cup of vegetable oil. I’ve done it with all butter and half butter half oil (I prefer half oil half butter) I’m fixing it now!!! Thank you so much …I hope this didn’t confuse you too much 🙂

Also Christa, I recommend using a metal baking pan and not a glass one. The brownies seem to bake better and evenly in the metal pan 🙂 Recipe is updated!!
